Dr. Alexis Buffington is originally from San Diego, California where she attended the University of California, San Diego for her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. She earned her medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Lebanon, Oregon and completed her internship and residency at Beaumont Health in Detroit, Michigan where she served as chief resident. Dr. Buffington has a particular interest in the treatment and prevention of skin cancer, acne, atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. Dr. Buffington is a board–certified Dermatologist, a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, and the Nevada Society for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Buffington lives in Henderson, Nevada with her husband and son. Outside of medicine, Dr. Buffington has a passion for traveling and has been to over 20 countries. She is an avid reader, and in her spare time she and her husband enjoy cooking together, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
